J.J. Jackson "But It's Alright" YouTube Video
Back to Artist Profile
One of the most infectious and grooviest dance numbers at that time, it was composed by Jackson and Pierre Tubbs. “But It’s Alright” came from the album of the same title, released under Calla Records. The single was recorded in the UK where Jackson had a backing band comprising some of Britain’s finest jazz musicians. He was also the song’s arranger. With its catchy guitar riffs, and rhythmic beats, it became an R&B hit at #4 and #22 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1966. The song reappeared on the charts three years later, settling at #45 on 1969 Billboard charts.
